We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and a deep understanding of caregiving practices. You must pass the BCI/FBI background check & drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services including bathing, grooming, and dressing assistance.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Help with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry and cleaning to maintain a safe living space.
- Monitor clients' health by observing changes in condition and reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safe travel to appointments or activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide specialized care for clients with conditions such as dementia, developmentally delayed, pediatrics, ensuring safety and comfort.
Experience
- Previous experience in home health or caregiving is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Previous experience working with DODD clients preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and home care practices is beneficial.
- Familiarity with meal preparation and dietary considerations is an asset.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality is essential.
- A caring attitude towards patients with varying needs, including those requiring dementia care, is crucial for success in this role.
- Individuals with medication certification(s) are a plus.
- Hoyer lift experience preferred.
- Experience using an electronic charting system.
- Behavioral health expertise is a plus.
Pay is based on experience and certification. Paid training is provided.
