Badger Metal is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping / Receiving & Quality Control Coordinator to support our growing operations. This is a new role within our company and will play a key part in ensuring that customer shipments are accurate, well-packaged, and meet quality expectations, while also ensuring incoming material is received correctly and entered into inventory.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on warehouse/manufacturing environment, takes pride in organization and accuracy, and is comfortable building structure and improving processes.
Shipping Responsibilities
- Receive finished parts from production departments and prepare them for shipment.
- Perform quality checks to verify parts match drawings and meet required tolerances.
- Package parts appropriately using wrap, boxes, skids, or pallets to prevent damage during transit.
- Create and apply shipping labels and documentation.
- Load pallets and packaged orders onto company delivery trucks.
- Coordinate outgoing shipments through UPS pickup and common carriers.
- Ensure shipments are properly documented, organized, and staged for pickup/delivery.
Receiving Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to unload vendor deliveries.
- Verify incoming material against Purchase Orders (quantity, description, condition).
- Inspect incoming items for damage or discrepancies and report issues as needed.
- Process receiving paperwork and ensure accurate inventory entry in the ERP system.
- Label and store incoming material in the correct warehouse location.
Quality Control & ISO Support
- Perform final inspection checks prior to shipment.
- Maintain inspection records and shipping documentation as required.
- Support ISO 9001 standards by ensuring proper documentation, traceability, and process compliance.
- Help identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
Process Improvement & Organization
- Help establish structure for this new department/function.
- Recommend workflow improvements for shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
- Work closely with production, purchasing, and management to ensure accurate information flow.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift experience.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings/prints for inspection purposes.
- Understanding of quality inspection processes and tolerance requirements.
- Comfortable using measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, etc.
- Experience using ERP systems for inventory/receiving/shipping transactions preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in a hands-on shop/warehouse environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Base Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
