Orthodontic Dental Assistant
Smile Makers Orthodontics is a family-focused practice dedicated to providing exceptional orthodontic care in a welcoming and positive environment. We are looking for an experienced, personable Orthodontic Dental Assistant who enjoys building relationships with patients and families and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced office.
Position Overview
As an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, you will be an important part of the patient experience, providing hands-on clinical support while helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment.
Responsibilities
- Capture intraoral photographs, digital X-rays, and iTero scans
- Take impressions, pour models, and fabricate vacuum-formed retainers
- Assist with bracket bonding, band fitting and cementation, wire changes, and appliance placement
- Provide excellent chairside support during orthodontic appointments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Keep treatment areas clean, organized, and properly prepared
- Communicate professionally and effectively with patients and parents
- Help create a positive, comfortable, and welcoming patient experience
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of orthodontic assisting experience preferred
- Active Texas RDA license
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, confident, and professional chairside manner
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-oriented
- Passion for orthodontics and providing exceptional patient care
