Do you want to work with students, but not be in a classroom 40 hours a week? Be part of our team as a Program Assistant and help prepare teens for success. This position is responsible for assisting in our motivational, Workforce Prep Mentoring Program that begins with 10th grade classroom, three mornings per week, calling/texting our high school students to check-in each month, completing office clerk duties, and data entry. It is a blend of working in our office in Troy, at schools (Detroit, Harper Woods, Hazel Park, Sterling Heights, and/or Warren), and at home.
Location: Monday at office in Troy, Tuesday-Friday is a mix of at schools, at the office, and working at home (if you can successfully work from home).

Responsibilities:
Serve as a classroom assistant three mornings per week at high school schools.
- Set-up, clean, and breakdown classrooms.
- Take quality photos of the mentoring teams.
- Provide excellent customer service to students and mentors.
- Attend student workshops at our schools.
Support students in our one-on-one mentoring programs
- Contact students in your caseload each month by text, phone, and/or email.
- Determine if they need additional support and work with program staff to provide it.
- Ensure their monthly mentoring sessions are taking place.
Support program staff in the office.
- Purchase and prepare materials for classes.
- Complete clerical tasks, including simple data tracking in Excel, mail merge, and filing.
Support mentor recruitment
- Process background checks and complete reference calls.
- Schedule potential mentors for interviews
Serve as an office clerk
- Enter data into our CRM, a spreadsheet, and/or surveys.
- Compile mailings, stamp and seal envelopes, and send through post office.
Other duties as needed
Education and experience: This position requires completion of a certification program, associate degree, or higher, along with 2 years of experience working/volunteering in an administrative role that includes data entry and other clerical tasks.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Standing/Walking: Frequently stands and walks through schools and classrooms for up to 4 hours.
- Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally lifts and carries boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.; setting up tables and chairs
- Dexterity: Constant keyboarding and gross motor manipulation of controls.
- Environment: Commuting to high school schools and the office, working in high energy, noisy classes.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
