Breakfast Host(ess)
General Information
Position: Breakfast Host(ess) Classification: Non-Manager Reports To: Assistant General Manager Department: Guest Services
Job Purpose: The purpose of the Breakfast Host(ess) is to facilitate the food service operations
for the continental buffett breakfast offering. This includes both the preparation and serving of food
offerings, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of the serving area.
Essential Job Functions
· Sanitize and wipe tables or seats with dampened cloths.
· Scrape and stack dirty dishes and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchens for cleaning.
· Clean up spilled food or drink empty trash.
· Perform serving, cleaning, or stocking duties in establishments
· Maintain adequate supplies of items.
· Stock cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refill condiment containers.
· Locate items requested by customers.
· Clean counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service areas and mop or vacuum floors.
· Any other duties which may be required to ensure guest satisfaction.
Job Knowledge
· Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer
and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for
services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
· English Language – Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Job Abilities · Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing. · Manual Dexterity – The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
