Role Type:
Seasonal (Position will last 6 months or less).
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Summary:
As a line cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking various dishes according to recipes and guidelines provided by the management team. You will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the culinary experience of our guests through your attention to detail and passion for food and respect for the ingredients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares ingredients by washing, peeling, and cutting, with a focus on portion control and proper temperatures; uses a temperature probe on protein items when necessary
- Follows recipes accurately to maintain consistent quality and presentation of dishes
- Utilizes whole food products, eliminating any waste; maintains a completely prepped station for service; ensures station is prepped for the next shift
- Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation standards in assigned areas
- Alerts chef or supervisor of any equipment breakdowns, food overages, or shortages in a timely manner
- Requisitions inventory and receives supplies as necessary for daily production
- Ensures proper storage of food items; wraps, dates, and rotates food items
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance
- Performs other duties as required
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a line cook, ideally in a high-volume restaurant environment
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Attention to detail and passion for creating culinary delights
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, listens, tastes, and smells. Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds (team lift).
