St. Patrick's Episcopal Day School seeks responsible, creative, and patient adults who enjoy working with children, desire a career in education, and are interested in working in our Auxiliary program. Our August summer program serves students in Pre-K (age 3) through Grade 6 during our two week summer camp.T he program's hours are from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM with extended hours available until 5:00PM. Monday through Friday for campers age 3-12 years old. Any instructor hired have an opportunity to join our auxiliary program during the school year (2:30- 6:00PM) or join our substitute teacher list. Any applicant with a CDL is eligible to join our bus sub list and assist with field trips throughout the year. Applicants for these time positions should have experience working with children in a preschool, elementary age or middle school setting. students, teaching, camp, or after-care environment. Candidates should possess at least a high school diploma and preferably a bachelor's degree or be working towards a bachelor's or advanced degree. Pay is based on education and experience. Examples of activities that Extended Day staff members engage in include:
-Planning, preparing, and implementing a program of age-appropriate activities (e.g. cooking, arts and crafts, sports, games, and clubs).
-Supervising with a co-instructor small groups of children in a variety of St. Patrick's educational settings (e.g., playgrounds, multipurpose rooms, gymnasiums, and classrooms).
-Greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and performing administrative duties at the programs' reception desk.
-Communicating with parents about children's behavior and activities during the extended day program.
Candidates must be able to attend paid monthly site-based staff development sessions. All appointments are subject to the successful completion of a required background check.
