About the Role
Our med spa is seeking a personable, detail-oriented Certified Phlebotomy Technician / Med Spa Specialist to support our growing aesthetics and wellness programs. This role blends hands-on clinical skill — including blood draws — with front-of-house patient care, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and genuinely connecting with clients. Experience in an IV therapy bar, med spa, or similar wellness setting is a strong plus.
Clinical & Phlebotomy Duties
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws accurately and comfortably for a range of wellness panels and lab testing.
- Label, process, and prepare specimens for outside lab pickup, ensuring proper chain-of-custody and documentation.
- Maintain strict infection control, sterile technique, and OSHA/bloodborne pathogen compliance standards.
- Monitor patients during and after procedures for comfort and any adverse reactions, escalating concerns as needed.
- Keep clinical supplies, draw stations, and treatment rooms stocked, organized, and sanitized.
Patient Coordinator Duties
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patients before, during, and after their visit, ensuring a warm and professional experience.
- Educate patients on services, prep instructions (e.g., hydration or fasting requirements), and aftercare guidance.
- Coordinate scheduling to keep the day running smoothly and on time.
- Follow up with patients on results, rebooking, and retention outreach, including promotional campaigns.
- Maintain accurate patient records and intake documentation in the practice management/EMR system.
Front Desk Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and manage check-in, including intake forms and consent paperwork.
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and manage online booking inquiries in a timely, friendly manner.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming front office and waiting area consistent with the spa's brand experience.
- Manage day-to-day office tasks such as supply orders, mail, and light administrative support.
Check-Out Duties
- Process check-out, collect payment, and handle point-of-sale transactions accurately.
- Review and explain charges, packages, and membership or loyalty program details to patients.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and recommend relevant add-on services or retail products.
- Reconcile daily transactions and support basic cash handling/end-of-day close-out procedures.
Qualifications
- Active phlebotomy certification (CPT) required; current and in good standing.
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred; experience in an IV therapy bar, med spa, or wellness clinic strongly preferred.
- Comfortable performing venipuncture on a wide range of patients with a calm, confident bedside manner.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor in a client-facing environment.
- Comfortable with front desk software, basic POS systems, and EMR/scheduling platforms.
- Highly organized, dependable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced clinic environment.
- CPR/BLS certification a plus.
