Real Estate Photographer & Videographer — $25–$40/hr, Paid Training
Shoot beautiful homes across Cape Cod — photos, cinematic video, drone, and 3D tours — for the region’s top real estate agents. We pay for your training, cover your drone certification, and put you on a clear path to $35–$40/hr — with health insurance and a 401(k) match. If you already have real camera experience, you won’t start at the bottom of the pay scale.
Nauset Media is a small, growing media company. Demand for our work — especially video — keeps climbing, and we need a second shooter who can eventually run full shoots solo. For your first few months you’ll shadow Lukas, the owner and lead photographer, learning our techniques and standards. Once trained, you own your shoot days end to end: arrival, capture, client interaction, upload.
What You’ll Do
- Shoot listing photos, walkthrough videos, aerial drone footage, floor plans, and 3D Matterport tours at residential properties across Cape Cod, Plymouth, and the South Shore
- Help homeowners and agents prep spaces — staging adjustments, lighting, making every home look its best
- Manage scheduling directly with agents by text, email, and phone, including same-day changes when weather shifts
- Upload all deliverables at the end of each shoot day
- Represent Nauset Media professionally in clients’ homes, every day
You’re Probably a Fit If
- You’ve shot real work on a real camera — weddings, events, YouTube, travel, short films, anything — and you can show it to us
- You’re comfortable walking into a stranger’s home and putting them at ease within two minutes
- A late sunset shoot or a same-day schedule change reads as “part of the job,” not a crisis
- You want to fly drones — you’ll need to pass the FAA Part 107 exam in your first month (we pay for the study materials and train you)
- You live on Cape Cod or just over the bridge, and you have a dependable, presentable vehicle
- You can arrive on time, professionally dressed and ready to represent a luxury brand
This Isn’t for You If
- Your camera experience is limited to your phone
- You need fixed 9–5 hours — our schedule moves with the weather and the market
- You’re looking for a filler job. We’re investing months of training in this hire and want someone who’s building a craft
- You already "know everything". If you're not completely open to giving and receiving feedback, will not enjoy this role. We are a team that is always trying to improve
Pay
Hourly, with raises tied to milestones — not tenure:
- Trainee — $25/hr while learning the ropes
- Licensed Drone Operator — $30/hr once you pass your Part 107
- Independent Photographer — $35/hr once you run full shoots solo and we can deliver your content to clients without additional review, knowing that all results are up to brand standard (photos, video, drone, floor plans, 3D)
- Master Photographer — $40/hr once you’re training and mentoring new photographers and helping to coordinate day-to-day operations
Candidates with strong existing experience are placed at the tier that matches their demonstrated skills — show us your work and we’ll tell you where you’d start. Overtime (40+ hrs/week) is paid at time and a half. Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate, and drive time to, from, and between shoots is paid.
Benefits
- Health insurance
- 401(k) with a 3% company match
- Paid training and FAA Part 107 study materials covered
- Mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard rate, plus paid drive time
Hours & Schedule
Roughly 30 hrs/week in the off-season (fall/winter), climbing toward 50 in the busy seasons (April–June, September–October). Schedules are set in advance, and we accommodate your availability with two weeks’ notice. Early mornings and late-evening twilights happen, especially in summer.
Gear
We provide all camera, lens, drone, and lighting equipment — you buy nothing. If you prefer to use your own gear are welcome to use it. You’ll need your own reliable vehicle and an iPhone 14 or newer (or willingness to get one).
Why This Role
- You learn a genuinely in-demand craft — real estate media production — with paid, hands-on training from day one
- You’re outside every day at properties across beautiful Cape Cod, from starter homes to stunning waterfront estates
- Small team: your work matters, and advancement is measured in months, not years
How to Apply — Read This Part Carefully
We read every complete application, and we respond to every applicant who follows these steps. Applications missing any of the three items below will not be reviewed.
1. A link to work you’ve shot. Portfolio site, reel, YouTube, Instagram, or a shared album — any genre. This is required, not optional. We’re hiring on demonstrated ability, not resumes.
2. A short cover letter (a few paragraphs is fine) answering: What have you shot, and with what gear? Why real estate media? And confirm you can work a variable schedule, including sunset shots and occasional same-day changes.
3. Your resume, highlighting camera and customer-facing experience.
If you’re excited to build a real skill set with a team that invests in you, we’d love to see your work.
