Hotel Front Desk Agent
Best Western Emerald Inn & Suites Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available
Job Description
We're looking for a Hotel Front Desk Agent who brings energy, warmth, and a genuine desire to take care of people. You'll be the first voice our guests hear on the phone and the first face they see when they walk in the door. Every call and every walk-in is a chance to turn an inquiry into a reservation, recommend the right room for the guest's needs, and set the tone for a great stay.
We care more about who you are than what you've done before. Hotel experience is a plus, but if you bring the right values, honesty, dependability, a strong work ethic, and a real desire to grow, we will teach you the rest.
Job Duties
- Welcome guests and complete check-ins and check-outs accurately and warmly
- Take reservations over the phone, explain rates and room options, upsell, and close the sale
- Wow walk-in guests, explain rates and room options, and turn the walk-in into a booking
- Recommend room upgrades, packages, amenities, and extended stays based on what each guest actually needs
- Respond quickly to guest requests, resolve concerns, and go the extra mile to make the stay memorable
- Process payments, balance the cash drawer, and keep accurate guest folios
- Keep the front desk and lobby clean, organized, and guest-ready
- Help with cleaning, stocking, and other hotel tasks during slower periods
- Use basic hotel software, and Microsoft Office, for reservations and daily tasks
Job Requirements
- Outgoing and comfortable talking to guests, on the phone and in person
- Sales-minded and confident asking for the reservation
- Honest, dependable, and able to work independently once trained
- A quick learner who follows direction and takes feedback well
- Punctual, organized, and willing to go the extra mile
- Calm under pressure, even when the lobby gets busy or the day changes fast
- Comfortable working under the direction of the manager.
- Team player, energetic, positive, self motivated
- Hotel, sales, retail, or customer-service experience is a plus, not a requirement
No hotel experience? If you bring a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a real desire to learn and serve the guests, we'll train you.
Schedule
Full-time and part-time shifts available, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on hotel needs. Please include your full availability when you apply.
Benefits
- Hands-on training and coaching, not just a manual
- Real opportunities to grow within the hotel
- Experience across hospitality, guest service, and sales
- Employee hotel discounts
- Supportive, hands-on leadership from the General Manager and ownership
- Optional cross-training, including our small hotel bar for qualified employees 21 and older (no bartending experience required)
Why Work With Us
We're an award-winning, locally-owned hotel where honesty, initiative, and genuine guest care actually get noticed. We invest in people who take ownership, support their team, and help drive results, not just clock in and out.
If you're outgoing, coachable, sales-minded, and ready to grow in hospitality, we'd love to meet you.
