Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting innovative dish ideas and modifications
- Maintain food safety standards in all aspects of food handling, storage, and preparation
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Support food service operations by plating dishes efficiently and accurately for service
- Follow slicing techniques and knife skills to prepare meats, vegetables, and other ingredients with precision
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth kitchen flow
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food handling best practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Prior experience in catering or meal preparation is advantageous but not mandatory
