Matakas Jiu Jitsu was established in 2017 in Florence, NJ and expanded into Hamilton, NJ in November 2025.
We are hiring a Program Director for each location (one for Hamilton and one for Florence) to own the academy’s growth. This is a growth-stage role with the opportunity to build and shape the systems that drive enrollment and retention.
Success is measured by new enrollments, academy student count growth month over month, student retention, academy culture, and community engagement.
Schedule: Schedule requires flexibility. Typical hours: Mon–Thurs 10am–8pm, Saturday 830am–1230pm.
Salary: Base salary plus performance-based compensation tied directly to enrollments and retention. High performers should expect strong upside, with total earnings growing meaningfully as the academy grows. PTO offered. We do NOT offer health insurance currently.
The Role
In-House Leader & Internal Sales
You are inside the academy converting opportunities into long-term members. You own the entire student pipeline—from first introduction through long-term retention. You run the ship off the mat.

- Meet prospective students and families in the academy
- Guide them through the onboarding and enrollment process
- Confidently communicate the value of the program
- Follow up with leads and maintain a strong pipeline
You are responsible for turning interest into committed members
2. Student Experience & Retention (Student Success)
- Ensure every student and parent feels welcomed and connected
- Design internal events to build rapport between members
- Build relationships that lead to long-term retention
- Create a high-energy, organized, professional environment
- Implement existing procedures of follow up/tracking to ensure student success
Following our procedures, you ensure students have a successful onboarding into the academy and become lifelong members of the community.
3. Operations & Leadership (Off-the-Mat)
- You bring structure and accountability to the business.
- Manage CRM, schedules, and reporting
- Track key metrics (leads, conversions, retention)
- Ensure systems are followed and standards are upheld
You are the leader of everything that happens off the mat.
Who This Is For

- you want to own a number and be accountable for hitting it

- you keep track of your pipeline and know where things stand
- you like building relationships, not just sitting behind a desk
Who This Is NOT For
This is not a fit if:
- You are uncomfortable with sales or asking for commitment
- You prefer to stay behind a desk rather than be interacting with others
- You need constant direction or supervision
- You are looking for a low-pressure, low-responsibility role
- You are unorganized, don't do well with tasks, and don't take ownership of your outcomes.
What You’ll Get
