Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced LVN/LPN for a travel assignment in a long-term care facility in beautiful Seward, Alaska. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of LTC experience, previous travel nursing experience, and an Alaska RN/LPN license in hand at the time of submission.
This role provides care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI, cognitive and physical impairments, and other LTC-level conditions.
Requirements
- Active Alaska LPN/LVN license must be in hand at submission
- BLS required
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Previous travel experience required
- LTC experience required
- LTAC experience preferred
- Experience with charting systems required; facility uses ECS
- Must be comfortable with approximately 1:20 patient ratios
Clinical Skills
Experience should include:
- Patient admissions and communication of status changes
- Vital-sign monitoring
- Medication administration, including oral, IM, SQ, eye and ear drops
- Blood glucose monitoring/Accuchecks
- G-tube/PEG tube care and feedings
- Foley catheter insertion
- Oxygen administration and respiratory treatments/nebulizers
- Isolation precautions and PPE
- Wound care
- Ambulation and bathing
- Phlebotomy/lab draws
- IV hydration as needed
- Care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, TBI, cognitive and physical impairments
- Use of lifts and Sara Steady equipment
- EKGs and glucose monitoring equipment
Pay: $2,000.00 - $2,100.00 per week
