Join our dedicated Healthcare Facilities team as a Housekeeping Services professional Here at Vineyard Park Mountlake Terrace, where your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, sanitized, and welcoming environment. This energetic role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to infection prevention, patient safety, and overall facility hygiene. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning and sanitation services in healthcare settings, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and environmental standards. Your proactive approach will help create a healthy space for staff, patients, and visitors alike.
Duties
- Assemble necessary cleaning supplies and equipment on housekeeping cart for transportation to designate area. Replenish as needed.
- Gather and dispose of trash. Wash wastebaskets and large refuse containers and reline with plastic liners.
- Dust furniture, light fixtures, lamps, window ledges. Use furniture polish when necessary. Move furniture as necessary to clean.
- Vacuum and wet mop floors. Polish floors using buffing machine and polish. Strip off old wax from floors and apply new wax as assigned.
- Clean walls, ceilings, windows, stairwells, and hallways, as necessary.
- Turn mattresses as directed.
- Clean lighting fixtures, tops of windows, door frames and other high places using a step ladder as necessary.
- Clean bathroom sinks, tubs, showers, toilets, walls, and floors. Replace toilet tissue, paper towels and liquid soap.
- Clean and polish metal fixtures. Replace light bulbs as needed.
- Disinfect areas by scrubbing and spraying.
- Hang draperies, blinds, and window shades, as necessary.
- Follow universal precautions.
- Keep utility rooms and housekeeping closets in good order.
- Clean and store materials and equipment safely and properly.
- Write a work order for any needed repairs to area or equipment.
- Observe the practices of dignity and hospitality with respect to residents, families, visitors, and other community personnel.
- Attend in-service programs.
- Assist in fire control and resident evacuation during fire or disaster emergencies.
- Observe all safety regulations regarding the use of equipment and chemicals.
- Complete forms or reports as directed by supervisor.
- Prior experience in healthcare facilities housekeeping or custodial roles is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling, safety protocol adherence, and infection prevention in healthcare environments.
- Experience with hospital or medical facility cleaning procedures including floor care and sanitation practices.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment operation such as floor buffers, steam cleaners, vacuum cleaners, and other janitorial tools.
- Proven ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices during routine tasks.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff members and visitors regarding cleanliness standards.
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience in hospital settings is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
