Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as FoodTec
- Serve food and drinks promptly, ensuring presentation standards are met
- Process cash and card transactions efficiently, including sales transaction processing and handling tips
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, including bussing tables and resetting for new guests
- Upsell menu items like cocktails, wines, or desserts to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Assist with food handling, beverage service, and basic food preparation when needed to support kitchen staff
- Use reservation systems like OpenTable to manage bookings and optimize seating arrangements
- Demonstrate knowledge of spirits, wines, and cocktail recipes to educate guests and recommend pairings
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally
Skills
- Some experience in food service or restaurant environment but willing to train right applicant
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy service periods efficiently
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining a genuine guest-focused approach
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities
- Experience with food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Previous host/hostess or bussing experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
