Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Caregiver to provide compassionate support and high-quality care to individuals in various care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient and resident care, with expertise in assisting with daily activities, monitoring health, and ensuring safety. As an Experienced Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and independence of those you serve through personalized care plans and attentive support.
Duties
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, observe changes in health status, and report findings to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including specialized diets for dementia, Alzheimer's, or other medical conditions.
- Support patients with memory care needs by implementing specialized techniques for dementia and neurodevelopmental disorder management.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Provide emotional support and effective communication to residents or clients, fostering a respectful and trusting relationship.
- Utilize manual handling techniques safely during patient transfers and assist with mobility exercises or assisted living activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice or palliative support is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with care plans development and implementation tailored to individual needs.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications in manual handling or specialized caregiving are advantageous.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with patient transfers using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration within home & community care settings.
