Trust & Estates Associate / Counsel - Private Clients
Location: Chicago, IL (Lake Forest & Remote/Hybrid Options Available) Salary: $320,000 - $375,000 (Base) + Comprehensive Bonus Program
The Opportunity Join a globally recognized, award-winning law firm as a Senior Associate or Counsel within our prestigious Private Clients, Trusts & Estates group. This role is designed for a sophisticated practitioner who thrives in a high-volume, high-stakes environment and is ready to "second chair" massive matters while independently managing their own portfolio. You will work closely with two premier partners on significant multi-generational client matters and family offices.
The Work
Strategic Planning: Develop and effectuate sophisticated lifetime and testamentary planning strategies.
Family Office Advisory: Provide high-level counsel to family offices and high-net-worth individuals.
Tax Expertise: Supervise research and projections regarding the tax implications of various planning techniques.
Client Leadership: Direct communication with key clients, preparing educational materials and summaries to advance complex goals.
Project Management: Lead client projects from inception to conclusion, managing timelines, task lists, and supervising junior associates.
Requirements
Experience: 7th-year associate class or above, or Counsel level.
Licensure: Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois Bar.
Skills: Strong academic record, extreme attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to new facts in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and mentor younger attorneys.
