Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Anywhere within living distance of a major airport
Salary: $35 -$44/hr + OT + per diem
Requirements: Able to travel up to 70% (Strong electrical/mechanical background)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a global leader in automated processing, sorting, and packaging technology. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, self-driven professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working with cutting-edge equipment, and traveling the world while making a direct impact for customers.
In this role, you'll be responsible for installing, commissioning, upgrading, and servicing advanced machinery at customer sites across the globe. Approximately 70-80% of your time will be spent traveling internationally, giving you the opportunity to experience different cultures, industries, and facilities while building strong customer relationships. When not traveling, you'll work remotely or from a regional office, collaborating with a highly skilled service team to deliver world-class support and keep customer operations running at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities

Repair, rebuild, upgrade, and retrofit machinery, including motors, drives, sensors, conveyors, pneumatics, and control panels.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC logic, and mechanical drawings to support installation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts.

Assemble, configure, and modify complete machines and production systems using mechanical, electrical, and electronic tools
Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, PLC, HMI, servo, VFD, AC/DC, and control system issues to maximize equipment performance and uptime.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve machine malfunctions and operational issues

Perform preventive maintenance activities to maximize machine uptime and reliability

Relocate, upgrade, and retrofit new and existing equipment at customer sites
Qualifications
-
Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Field Service Technician, or similar technical service role

Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously

Electrical & mechanical troubleshooting (AC/DC, motors, controls, industrial machinery)

PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and automation equipment

Reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings

Pneumatic and hydraulic systems troubleshooting

Machine installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair

Comfortable traveling internationally for extended periods (70-80% travel)
