Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Athenahealth.
- Assist physicians and nurses with medical procedures including IV infusion, medication administration, phlebotomy.
- Manage patient intake, discharge planning, and coordinate care across outpatient, inpatient, long-term care, hospice, and home & community care settings.
- Conduct specimen collection and processing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, and specimen handling following infection control protocols.
- Support triage activities by evaluating patient symptoms for urgent or emergent care needs in emergency room or urgent care environments.
- Administer injections, perform basic life support (BLS), and operate medical equipment..
- Document all patient interactions accurately in EMR/EHR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
Experience
- Prior experience: 2+ years
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation..
- Knowledge of ICD10 coding for accurate diagnosis documentation; CPT coding experience is a plus.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as IV insertion, phlebotomy, or advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) are desirable.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology principles to perform thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations effectively.
