Responsibilities
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering speech therapy services tailored to individual student needs.
- Support the implementation of speech-language therapy plans, including exercises targeting language development and speech disorders.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to facilitate effective communication strategies within school settings and during telehealth sessions.
- Conduct assessments and document progress related to child language development, speech sound production, and fluency.
- Support students with disabilities by providing targeted interventions aligned with IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
- Maintain accurate client communication records, progress notes, and therapy logs in compliance with school policies and healthcare standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care plans and ensure comprehensive support for students’ communication needs.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children, students with disabilities, or in pediatric settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology.
- Experience working with individuals with speech or language disorders across various age groups.
- Familiarity with early intervention strategies and school-based therapy practices.
- Ability to support bilingual clients and adapt therapy approaches for diverse linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong understanding of child language development milestones and speech disorders support techniques.
- Experience utilizing telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions is a plus.
- Excellent client communication skills combined with a collaborative attitude for multidisciplinary teamwork.
