Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of all work areas, including sinks, dish stations, and storage areas, adhering to sanitation standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as basic ingredient handling and prep work when needed
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing station
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, sinks, and other cleaning tools
- Follow all food safety management protocols to ensure proper handling and sanitation of items
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to moving supplies or large quantities of dishes and equipment
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and kitchen health standards
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently, including heavy lifting
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as commercial dishwashers and sinks
- Basic knife skills for assisting in food preparation when required
- Strong understanding of sanitation practices related to kitchen cleanliness and hygiene
- Ability to work quickly in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail
