Full Job Description

Summary of Position:

The Warehouse Technician is responsible for providing secure warehouse services that ensure high quality receiving, supply, storage and distribution of goods in support of site divisions and projects. A strong focus on internal/external customer service which supports the day-to-day needs of operational activities.

Essential Functions:

Receiving freight
Transfer goods to and from trucks by means of forklift and pallet jack in a safe and efficient manner
Account for all incoming goods received on packing slips using software; ensure tracking numbers are properly keyed in
Ensure all shortshipments or damaged shipments are recorded and reported
Count, weigh, measure and inspect materials and supplies received in accordance with established policy and procedure
Process Rotatable/Repairable type items to ensure prompt return to inventory
Efficiently plan, initiate and carry out planned and unplanned work or other warehouse projects as needed
Operate equipment in a safe, productive manner and follow all operational procedures
Receive material and supplies by common carrier, express delivery services using a variety of shipping services and filling out appropriate paperwork and inspection materials
Demonstrate effective housekeeping skills in the work area
Record and compare quantity of material received with vendor documentation indicating discrepancies such as overages, shortages, and damages in accordance with policies and procedures
Perform daily cycle counts, identifying required corrections to inventories and bin locations, coordinating corrections with designated Materials Control personnel

Experience and Training:

The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

High school diploma or GED
Attention to detail, intrapersonal skills and highlevel multitasking and organization
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Satisfactory safety, performance, and attendance records
Previous warehouse experience preferred
Demonstrated computer experience required

Work Schedule and Personal Protective Equipment:

The incumbent works a 40 hour/week schedule. Personal Protective Equipment required for the field work portion of this position includes, but is not limited to, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots. All equipment must be MSHA approved as applicable.
