The Sports Outreach Ministry Assistant is a highly visible, front-facing role that supports the Director of Sports Outreach in advancing First Naples Church's mission through sports by serving as a welcoming point of contact for children, families, coaches, volunteers, and community partners. This individual demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, a servant-hearted attitude, and a passion for engaging diverse families while representing the church with warmth, professionalism, and integrity. This individual will help build relationships within the community, manage event logistics, and ensure smooth operations. Flexibility, strong communication skills, and physical capability are key to success in this role.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Reports to the Director of Sports Outreach. Executes assigned tasks and responsibilities of the Sports Outreach ministry and manages sports outreach activities on the campus of the church. Communicates with volunteers, participants, and community members to promote events and programs. Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling events, managing registrations, and using computer software to track attendance and resources. Work outdoors, assisting in the setup and breakdown of equipment for events, regardless of weather conditions. Ensure proper maintenance, transportation, and organization of sports equipment. Also, have the ability to stand or walk for long periods. Manage phone inquiries (emails) and provide information about sports outreach programs Develop relationships with participants and engage with community members to encourage involvement. Develop and maintain professional working relationships with the staff of First Baptist Academy and First Naples Church. Assist the Sport Outreach Coordinator in post-event evaluation and feedback collection.
SPECIFIC LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Must be available to work weekday afternoon and evening hours when sports programs are being delivered. Flexible availability; Saturdays are required. Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. of equipment. Comfortable working in various weather conditions and standing for extended periods. Experience using a computer for basic administrative tasks. Excellent verbal communication skills and phone etiquette. Prior experience or knowledge of sports is a plus. Some of your duties may involve supporting the First Baptist Academy’s athletic program. Some of your duties may require supporting other departments of First Naples Church. QUALIFICATIONS Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Enthusiastic about connecting with the community and fostering engagement through sports. Ability to handle physical demands and adapt to changing environments.
