About the Role
Our growing medical group is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our Apple Valley office. This is a great opportunity for a recent Medical Assistant program graduate or certified MA looking to build hands-on clinical experience in a supportive, patient-focused environment. You'll work closely with our providers, front office staff, and Clinical Care Coordinator to support patients through every step of their visit.
What You'll Do
Clinical Support
- Room patients and take/record vital signs
- Prepare exam and procedure rooms
- Assist providers during exams and minor procedures
- Administer injections and immunizations as directed
- Perform basic lab procedures (specimen collection, point-of-care testing)
- Perform EKGs and other basic diagnostic tests
- Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Monitor and restock clinical supplies
Administrative Support
- Check in patients and verify insurance/demographic info
- Update electronic health records (EHR)
- Schedule appointments and follow-ups
- Answer phones and relay messages
- Process referrals and prior authorizations
- Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation
Patient Care & Communication
- Give patients clear instructions on procedures, medications, and follow-up care
- Respond to patient concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Support a clean, welcoming office environment
- Collaborate with providers and staff for smooth patient flow
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required
- CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or CMAA certification preferred (actively pursuing certification okay)
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Entry-level welcome — clinical externship experience satisfies the experience requirement
- Prior medical office experience a plus, not required
- Working knowledge of basic clinical procedures and medical terminology
- Comfort with EHR systems
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to multitask
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
