American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Infusion Center position requiring chemotherapy certification and Epic charting experience.

Work in the Infusion Center of a hospital, providing outpatient oncology and infusion services
-
Care for oncology and non-oncology patients receiving chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy infusions
-
Adult and geriatric patient population with 1:1 staffing ratios
-
Average daily census of 40 patients across 14 rooms, with approximately 7 visits per day
-
Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM

Weekend requirement of approximately two hours every six weeks

Uses Pyxis medication system and CADD infusion equipment
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Support staff includes interpretation services, pharmacy, rapid response team, respiratory services, social services, unit secretary, techs, and charge nurse
-
Floating to other units and/or facilities may be required
-
Active MI RN license required in hand (pending OH license acceptable)

Current certifications: BLS and Chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC); ACLS and OCN preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
-
Charge nurse experience preferred
-
Extensive oncology and infusion skills required, including chemotherapy administration, port access/management, PICC and central line care, and IV push administration
-
Experience managing oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, sepsis, and tumor lysis syndrome required
-
Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses (e.g., breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma) required
-
Knowledge of bone marrow transplant care, including CAR-T and stem cell therapies, required
-
Skills in wound care, phlebotomy, telephone triage, and isolation precautions required
-
Epic charting system experience required
-
Two professional references from within the last 24 months required, with one reference contact submitted within 72 hours of signing
-
Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Administer chemotherapy and manage infusion therapies for oncology and non-oncology patients
-
Provide symptom management for issues such as nausea, neuropathy, edema, and altered mental status
-
Coordinate care and provide patient/family education and psychosocial support, including advanced directives
-
Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and manage oncologic emergencies as needed
-
Perform post-surgical patient care as part of daily responsibilities

Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for travel rate

Previous staff must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 1 year to be eligible

Requested time off of 7+ days requires manager approval; no time off permitted on holidays or the days before/after holidays
