About the Opportunity
Circle Clinical is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to support our growing Psychiatry and Central Nervous System (CNS) clinical research program.
This position is ideal for a clinically experienced psychiatric provider who enjoys providing direct patient care while helping advance innovative treatments through clinical research. The PMHNP will work closely with the Principal Investigator to perform protocol-required medical evaluations, psychiatric follow-up, medication management, participant safety oversight, and study procedures.
Experience in psychiatric clinical research is preferred but not required. Strong psychiatric medication management experience and a commitment to protocol compliance, participant safety, and high-quality documentation are essential.
What You Will Do
· Perform psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits for clinical trial participants.
· Review psychiatric and medical history to support eligibility determinations.
· Evaluate inclusion and exclusion criteria in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
· Perform protocol-required physical examinations.
· Conduct comprehensive suicide risk assessments using sponsor-required instruments.
· Evaluate adverse events and assess clinical significance.
· Review laboratory results, ECGs, vital signs, and other safety data.
· Manage psychiatric medications according to protocol requirements.
· Initiate, taper, discontinue, or adjust medications when permitted by study protocols and under PI oversight.
· Monitor participants for medication efficacy, tolerability, withdrawal symptoms, and emerging safety concerns.
· Collaborate with study coordinators regarding participant scheduling and protocol compliance.
· Respond to participant medical questions between study visits.
· Document all evaluations in accordance with ALCOA-C principles, GCP, ICH guidelines, FDA regulations, and site SOPs.
· Participate in sponsor meetings, investigator meetings, monitoring visits, and protocol training.
· Assist the Principal Investigator in maintaining participant safety throughout study participation.
What We Are Looking For
· Current unrestricted PMHNP license.
· DEA registration (or ability to obtain one).
· Master's or Doctorate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
· Strong knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses and psychopharmacology.
· Experience treating depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia, ADHD, and related psychiatric illnesses.
· Excellent understanding of psychiatric medication initiation, titration, tapering, switching, augmentation strategies, and side effect management.
· Comfortable interpreting psychiatric symptom changes throughout treatment.
· Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills.
· Excellent communication and patient rapport.
· Ability to work collaboratively with investigators, sponsors, and research staff.
Preferred Background
· Previous clinical research experience.
· Experience as a Sub Investigator.
· Experience with industry-sponsored Psychiatry or CNS clinical trials.
· Experience managing investigational medications.
· Knowledge of FDA regulations, GCP, and ICH guidelines.
· Experience completing Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS).
· Experience working with electronic source documentation and EDC systems.
· Current research-related certifications.

Compensation
$65.00–$90.00 per hour
Compensation is based on psychiatric experience, clinical research experience, DEA registration, research qualifications, and overall clinical expertise.
Pay: $65.00 - $90.00 per hour
