About the Role:
Avail Staffing is actively seeking a Marine Electrician Technician II with a strong background in shipboard electrical systems. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with intermediate-level expertise in marine electrical installations, troubleshooting, and repair. Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair shipboard electrical equipment and wiring in accordance with NAVSEA standards

Interpret and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, and work packages

Run and terminate cabling, install lighting, switches, motors, controllers, and circuit protection

Conduct continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, and ensure grounding compliance
-
Support the setup and testing of control panels and electrical distribution systems

Work safely in confined spaces, elevated areas, and active shipyard environments

Collaborate with other trades to ensure efficient and high-quality work
Qualifications:

2–4 years of experience as a Marine Electrician in shipyard or naval vessel environments

Familiar with MIL-SPEC standards and NAVSEA drawing interpretation

Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical systems and marine cableway practices

Experience with cable pulling, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting

Must pass background check and drug screening

OSHA 10 Maritime, DBIDS preferred or ability to obtain

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods
