We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Government Advocacy Manager to lead our efforts in shaping public policy and fostering strong relationships with government agencies. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive government advocacy strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with government officials, legislators, and public agencies to influence policy decisions.
- Conduct thorough policy research and analysis to inform advocacy efforts and provide expert recommendations.
- Draft and disseminate press releases, policy briefs, position papers, and other communication materials for media relations and public outreach.
- Organize and deliver compelling public speaking engagements, stakeholder meetings, and community forums to promote organizational priorities.
- Collaborate with legal teams on legislation drafting, regulatory compliance, and legal considerations related to advocacy initiatives.
- Manage social media platforms and other digital channels to raise awareness, engage audiences, and support advocacy campaigns.
- Coordinate fundraising activities, including grant writing and partnership development, to support advocacy programs.
- Plan and oversee strategic management of budgets for advocacy projects while ensuring efficient resource utilization.
- Liaise with media outlets for coverage of policy issues and organize press conferences or briefings as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience working within government agencies or in government relations roles, with a strong understanding of legislative processes and public affairs policy advocacy.
- Demonstrated success in media relations, negotiation, public speaking, and social media management.
- Background in journalism or editing is highly desirable for crafting clear, impactful messaging.
- Experience conducting policy research, legal drafting, and developing strategic plans for advocacy campaigns.
- Familiarity with government legislation, regulatory frameworks, and public relations strategies is essential.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
- Prior experience in government agency collaboration or public affairs positions will be advantageous.

Pay: $60,893.68 - $75,721.42 per year
