Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Technician to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Conduct regular safety inspections and hazard assessments to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Develop, deliver, and document comprehensive safety training programs focused on OSHA standards, hazardous materials regulations, environmental health, and workplace safety best practices.
- Monitor compliance with environmental regulatory standards such as EPA regulations and environmental management systems, ensuring adherence across all departments.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses through root cause analysis; prepare detailed report writing to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workers' compensation law and OSHA requirements to ensure legal compliance in all safety procedures.
- Oversee hazardous materials handling procedures in accordance with hazardous materials regulations; ensure proper storage, labeling, and disposal.
- Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans including CPR and First Aid protocols; conduct drills regularly to reinforce readiness.
Requirements
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of workplace safety protocols.
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid, OSHA safety standards, EPA regulations, and environmental health are highly preferred.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance standards and environmental management systems is essential.
- Familiarity with workers' compensation law and occupational health expertise is required to navigate regulatory requirements effectively.
- Strong report writing skills coupled with the ability to perform root cause analysis for incident investigations.
- Ability to interpret and apply safety regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and legal compliance standards within production settings.
- Excellent communication skills for delivering training sessions and collaborating across teams to promote a culture of safety.
