Position:
Instrument Supervisor
Reports to:
Maintenance Superintendent
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists the Maintenance Superintendent in directing technical personnel and in planning and scheduling maintenance work.

Provides necessary supervision for contract maintenance and construction projects.

May assume some of the duties of the Maintenance Superintendent in his absence.

Meets daily with production, engineering, and management personnel to review work orders for repair.

Helps in conducting performance reviews on department employees.

Assists the engineering department in the design and specification of equipment on projects, improvements, and additions to plants.

Assists Store/Receiving Department in setting up spare parts as needed.
-
Helps in the training of operation personnel on electrical and instrument equipment as needed.

Participates in morning staff meetings as required.

Performs other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
Required
-
High School diploma/GED equivalent.
-
Five to seven years of experience with industrial/process instrumentation.
Preferred
-
Prior supervisory experience
-
Prior work in a manufacturing chemical facility
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Microsoft Office applications required.

Well-developed interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills.

Strong time management and organizational skills.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Flexible, adaptable, and organized; can handle numerous tasks simultaneously without losing focus; ability to properly prioritize work.

Self-motivated, able to perform with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Regularly required to push, pull, bend, and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations.
- Occasionally required to stoop and kneel.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
- Required to be medically certified for respirator and medically fit for duty.
- Use of PPE required in specific areas.
