Overview
About Our Business
We are a family-owned fruit farm specializing in apples, strawberries, and raspberries, featuring a year-round pie bakery and farm market. Due to the seasonal nature of agriculture, we scale up temporary hires during our peak summer and fall harvest seasons while maintaining a core team of full-time employees year-round.
Phase 1: Peak Fall Season (Mid-August – December 6)
Our busy apple season begins just before Labor Day weekend and concludes on December 6.
- Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break).
- Days Off: Mondays are always off; your second day off will be mutually agreed upon.
- Baking Responsibilities: Rolling pie crust, mixing fruit filling, peeling apples, making caramel apples and donuts, operating the oven, and packaging baked goods.
- Retention Bonus: Upon successful completion of the season through December 6, you will receive a $1.00 bonus for every hour worked during this phase.
Phase 2: Transition to Year-Round Team (Winter & Spring)
If there is a mutual fit at the end of the fall season, we would love to discuss transitioning you into a permanent, year-round role.
- Pay Increase: $17.00 per hour.
- Schedule: 38–40 hours per week compressed into a 4-day workweek (9-hour shifts).
- Days Off: 3 days off per week (Mondays off; the remaining two days will be mutually agreed upon).
- Adjusted Responsibilities: Customer traffic slows down in the winter and spring, so your duties will diversify. While 75% of your time remains dedicated to the bakery, you will also support our farm market by operating the cash register, bagging and restocking apples, dehydrating produce, and managing inventory.
Long-Term Career & Wage Growth
We reward loyalty and reliability with clear, structured raises and seasonal bonuses:
- Year 2 (Fall 2027): Complete the season through December 5, 2027, to receive a $1.00/hour bonus for all hours worked in September, October, and November. Your base wage will then increase to $18.00 per hour for the following season.
- Year 3 (Fall 2028): Complete the season through December 3, 2028, to receive a $1.00/hour bonus for all hours worked in September, October, and November. Your base wage will then increase to $19.00 per hour for the following season.
