Founding Physician — Jones Health
Fort Lauderdale, FL (remote-friendly within Florida) | Part-time to start, path to full-time | $250–$350/hr retainer or full-time salary for the right fit
About Jones Health
Jones Health sells a complete health baseline to entrepreneurs. One coordinated experience that includes advanced bloodwork, coronary calcium scoring, full-body MRI, multi-cancer early detection, whole genome sequencing, DEXA, and CGM, all reviewed by a physician who takes the time to actually explain what it means. Everything is cash-pay and we never touch insurance. We're pre-launch, funded by the founder's profitable 8-figure company, and we're starting in Florida with plans to expand from there.
The Role
You would be our first physician, and this is not a reviewer-in-a-queue job. You'd be building the clinical side of this company with us and seeing our clients yourself.
Here's what that looks like in practice. You'd design the medicine: the test protocol, the medical intake, eligibility criteria, and what happens when we find something. You'd work with our healthcare counsel on all of it, and what you build becomes the standard every client experiences. You'd see the clients too, reviewing intakes, ordering testing, reviewing every result, and writing the integrated report that pulls the bloodwork, imaging, and genomics into one clear picture. Then you'd get on a call and walk the client through it in plain language. That walkthrough is honestly the whole product, and it's why clients pay us what they do.
You'd also serve as medical director, which means real authority over the clinical side, in writing. You vet the imaging centers we work with, you decide what we will and won't offer, and nobody here overrides your clinical judgment. We're a marketing and operations company that believes the medicine has to be excellent and physician-led, or none of the rest matters.
Hours and Compensation
We're flexible on structure and want to be upfront about how we're thinking about it.
Most likely this starts part-time, somewhere around 8 to 15 hours a week on a monthly retainer at a $250–$350/hour equivalent depending on your experience. The protocol buildout is front-loaded, then clinical work grows as clients come on. If you have an existing practice, you can keep it.
We'd also put the path to full-time in writing from day one. When client volume supports it, the role converts to a full-time salary we agree on now rather than renegotiate later, likely in the $220,000–$300,000 range depending on scope.
And if you've built or run your own cash-pay practice before and you're ready to go full-time immediately, tell us. We're open to that conversation for the right person.
One thing that isn't flexible: compensation is never tied to test volume or orders. Flat retainer or salary at fair market value, structured with healthcare counsel. Your clinical judgment isn't for sale here, and we're building the company on that principle.
Who This Is For
You have a Florida medical license in good standing (MD or DO), and additional state licenses are a real plus as we expand. Your background is internal medicine, family medicine, or preventive medicine, ideally with a functional or longevity medicine orientation. You're comfortable ordering advanced diagnostics on asymptomatic adults who want to understand their health, and you know how to interpret those results responsibly.
The core skill of this job is explanation. You can walk a smart non-doctor through a lab panel without dumbing it down and without hiding behind jargon. We'll test this in the interview by having you walk us through real results, so if that sounds fun rather than annoying, you're probably our kind of physician.
Beyond that, we're looking for builder energy. If you've ever thought you'd practice medicine differently if someone else handled everything that isn't medicine, that's the arrangement we're offering.
Who This Is Not For
Physicians looking for a passive review gig won't be happy here, because you'll know our clients by name. And if you believe preventative diagnostics for asymptomatic adults isn't real medicine, we genuinely respect the view, but this isn't your seat.
