From custom camp gear to the latest styles, we pride ourselves on a fun, "everything" environment where no two days are the same.
The Role: We are looking for a dedicated, hands-on Assistant Manager to join our team. This is a unique growth position: you will begin your journey at our Westport location, reporting directly to the Store Owner. Once fully immersed in the Groove culture and operations, you will be trained to manage our New Canaan location.
The ideal candidate is a retail "pro" who loves the small-business hustle and is ready to take the next step in their leadership career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership: Drive revenue by providing expert styling advice and high-touch customer service.
- Merchandising: Maintain a fresh, visually stunning store environment; execute floor sets and highlight new arrivals daily.
- Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels, process new shipments, and ensure inventory accuracy across locations.
- Operations: Assist the owner with daily opening/closing, reporting, and team coordination.
- Communication: Act as a bridge between the owner and the floor staff, ensuring clear and professional communication.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a retail environment (boutique or apparel experience preferred).
- Flexibility: Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to work at both our Westport and New Canaan stores as needed.
- Availability: Must be stable and reliable, with a schedule that includes one weekend day per week.
- Skillset: A blend of selling prowess, organizational "magic," and a friendly, outgoing personality.
- Mindset: A "get involved in everything" attitude. Whether it’s gift-wrapping a birthday present or reorganizing a stockroom, you lead by example.
