Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants/Caregivers to provide exceptional support to individuals in various care settings, including home, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, monitoring health status, and ensuring their safety and comfort. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient observations, and overall health status
- Administer medications and follow care plans in accordance with healthcare protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and ensure proper safety procedures are followed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and infection control practices
- Document care activities accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Support clients during outings or community activities as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice care preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care, autism spectrum disorders, and developmental disabilities
- Certification in First Aid and CPR required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are advantageous
- Ability to work with sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in condition
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident transfers
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to provide high-quality senior or long-term care services
- Valid driver’s license preferred for community-based caregiving roles
