Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technician to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized testing equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, system design documents, and CAD drawings to accurately install systems according to specifications
- Conduct construction inspections to ensure fire alarm components are correctly integrated with building infrastructure
- Perform system testing and calibration of sensors, alarms, control panels, and low voltage wiring in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards
- Assist in system design modifications by reviewing schematics and providing input on system functionality and layout
- Provide field service support by diagnosing issues promptly and ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with fire sprinkler fitting teams and electrical contractors during construction projects to coordinate system integration
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on fire alarm components to ensure ongoing compliance and operational readiness
- Support sales efforts by demonstrating system features and explaining benefits of fire alarm solutions to clients
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fire alarm installation, maintenance, or service technician roles with a strong mechanical background
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, system design principles, and CAD software is essential
- Hands-on experience with low voltage wiring, sensors, alarms, control panels, and electrical troubleshooting techniques
- Familiarity with construction inspection processes related to fire alarm systems and fire sprinkler fitting is preferred
- Strong understanding of NEC regulations and electrical codes relevant to fire alarm installations
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, power saws, and other construction equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to system diagnostics
- Effective communication skills for working collaboratively with construction teams, clients, and vendors
- Valid technical certifications or training related to fire alarm systems are advantageous

Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour
