Capitol River Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Payroll & Human Resources Coordinator to join our leadership team. This position plays a vital role in supporting our employees throughout the entire employment lifecycle while ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
We are looking for a motivated HR professional who is passionate about employee engagement, recruitment, retention, compliance, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care is highly preferred.

Human Resources
Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and department managers.
Coordinate recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, reviewing applications, conducting phone screens, scheduling interviews, and assisting with hiring decisions.
Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including pre-employment screenings, orientation, and completion of employment documentation.
Maintain employee personnel records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.
Support employee relations by assisting with investigations, coaching conversations, disciplinary documentation, performance management, and conflict resolution.
Assist with leave administration, workers' compensation claims, unemployment claims, and benefits administration.
Monitor employee licenses, certifications, TB testing, and other required healthcare-related credentials.
Participate in employee engagement, recognition, retention, and appreciation initiatives.
Support compliance with employment laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain confidentiality of employee information and personnel records.
Payroll Administration
Process and maintain accurate payroll records in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Review and audit timekeeping records for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate payroll changes including new hires, terminations, wage adjustments, status changes, and benefit deductions.
Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Maintain payroll documentation and support payroll-related audits.
Ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations and payroll best practices.
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources, Payroll, or HR Generalist experience.
Strong knowledge of employment practices, HR compliance, payroll processing, and employee relations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and HRIS/payroll systems.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Preferred
Human Resources experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, healthcare setting, or long-term care environment.
Experience with employee recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and retention initiatives.
Knowledge of healthcare staffing requirements and regulatory compliance.
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) is a plus.
