Overview: Leading manufacturer of mechanized tarping systems requires mechanically minded experienced technician(s) with leadership potential to manufacture, assemble and install mechanical tarping systems onto trailers. 40 hours a week plus Overtime. Hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 - 4:00pm - plus overtime as required.
Qualifications: Must be mechanically minded, proficient with hand and power tools (drills, grinders, saws, sewing machines etc. ), read a tape measure and follow instructions on the floor. Must be able to read and interpret installation instructions and diagrams and have basic math skills for adding and subtracting measurements. Must be able to work independently and as part of a cohesive team. Must be able to lift 70 lbs. Grade 12 education is required; automotive or manufacturing experience would be a plus. Must be able to read and speak English and communicate effectively. Must be reliable and dependable. A tow motor certification would be beneficial. Ability to operate shunt truck and move trailers around the yard safely is desired. Three years in a manufacturing environment is desired. Must be able to work as part of a team and also be successful in a self-directed work environment and self-initiate work tasks. Must be physically fit and be able to climb ladders and work from a raised platform. Exposure to aluminum welding techniques and good quality beads would be considered an additional asset.

Duties:
- Assemble component parts for installation
- Read and correctly interpret work orders for each job and all order specifications
- Install product components onto trailers using power and hand tools
- Modify component parts to custom order specifications using various tools and pieces of equipment
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols
- Make sure all component parts are correctly installed and meet order specifications
- Control and manage all assigned tools and work spaces.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Manufacture tarp panels and complete tarp repairs.
- Complete service and repair work as required.
- Install parts of tarping system onto various makes and models of trailers.
- Accurately record time on work orders and miscellanous parts used on work orders.
