Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Box Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team! In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating box trucks to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, maintaining safety standards at all times
- Deliver goods to various locations along assigned routes, managing route driving with precision and punctuality
- Inspect vehicles daily for maintenance needs, ensuring the truck is in optimal condition for each trip
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including delivery logs, route sheets, and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Assist with securing refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers or other specialized equipment as needed for specific freight types
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving commercial vehicles preferred
- Experience in truck driving, delivery routes, or related roles involving freight handling
- Experience in driving 26 foot box truck is a plus
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely
- Experience with load & unload procedures using palletjack or other equipment required for freight handling
- Strong knowledge of route driving best practices
