Diesel Technician A – Heavy Duty Equipment & FleetOverview
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician A to join a fast-paced heavy-duty fleet operation. This is a hands-on role for a technician who takes pride in diagnosis, precision repairs, shop organization, and maintaining equipment to a high operational standard.
The ideal candidate is highly skilled in diagnostics, understands the importance of urgency and prioritization, and can work independently with minimal oversight. This position is suited for someone who views diesel repair as a profession — not just a job.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting on heavy-duty diesel equipment and trucks
- Repair and maintain engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, air systems, suspension, brakes, driveline components, and emissions systems
- Utilize diagnostic software, scan tools, and OEM troubleshooting procedures
- Identify root causes of failures quickly and accurately
- Prioritize repairs based on operational urgency and downtime impact
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and identify upcoming repair needs
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and uphold high shop standards
- Complete work orders, repair notes, and parts documentation accurately
- Communicate clearly with management regarding repair status, timelines, and parts requirements
- Assist in maintaining shop efficiency, organization, and professionalism
Qualifications
- 5+ years of heavy-duty diesel technician experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic abilities required
- Experience with Cummins, Paccar, Detroit, Caterpillar, Volvo, Mack, International, or similar platforms preferred
- Proficient with electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Understanding of hydraulic systems strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently and make sound repair decisions
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and attention to detail
- Cleanliness and organization are mandatory
- CDL is a plus, but not required
- Welding/fabrication experience is a plus

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00+ per hour depending on experience
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime available
Experience:
- Heavy-duty diesel repair: 5 years preferred
License/Certification:
- Driver’s License required
- CDL preferred but not required
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
