This per diem, as-needed position lets you choose when and how often you work, based on the needs of local schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students’ learning, behavior, and social skills in classroom settings
- Deliver 1:1 or small-group assistance as directed by educators
- Help with students’ daily routines, classroom transitions, and participation
- Follow behavior support plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Offer mobility, supervision, and personal care support as needed
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
School Compliance Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Active ParaPro certification, Substitute Teaching certification, or 36+ college credits
- 18 years of age or older
- Completion of TB test (per district requirements)
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
- Willingness to obtain or update required clearances before starting
Preferred Background:
- Experience in a school, special education, behavioral health, or child care setting
- Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- CPI, PMT, or RBT training (a plus, not required)
- Patient, reliable, and collaborative attitude
