Open Position: Fairgrounds Maintenance Operator – Temporary/Seasonal, Full-Time
Work Dates: Beginning June 2026 (Mostly days with evening and weekend hours during large events) through the end of September.
Hiring: $18.44 an hour
Position Summary: This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and operations of the Sheridan County Fairgrounds.
Minimum Job Requirements: Experience working with the public, event experience, equipment operations, facility maintenance, working in various weather conditions.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Prepares fairground facilities for events (maintains public buildings and grounds, sets panels for animal stalls/pens, stage events)
- Assists in enforcing rules and regulations of the fairground facilities
- Maintains facilities and equipment; performs repairs; makes recommendations for professional services, when necessary
- Maintains Grounds (Mowing, weed trimming, Painting, Sweeping, Cleaning, etc.)
- Equipment Operation (Mower, Tractor, Skid steer)
- Handles immediate repairs and clean-ups
- Performs routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
**There may be exposure to extreme heat and/or cold under demanding physical conditions.
**Applicant must have the ability to lift 50 pounds.
