Position Overview: As a Veterinary Assistant you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our clinic. Your responsibilities will include assisting our skilled veterinarians, providing patient care, and handling some customer service tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a love for animals and a desire to contribute to the well-being of pets in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing venipuncture, positioning patients properly for radiographs, calculating and administering medications, using in-clinic laboratory equipment, and assessing fecal floatation
- Assisting veterinarians with various medical procedures
- Providing gentle and compassionate patient restraint when necessary
- Some customer service tasks including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and greeting clients
- Maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment
- Collaborating with the veterinary team to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a veterinary assistant role required
- Passion for animals and a desire to make a positive impact in their lives
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- No CVT requirement – willingness to learn and grow in the role
