Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications accurately in accordance with state and federal pharmacy laws.
- Perform sterile IV compounding and aseptic technique procedures for IV infusion therapies, ensuring sterile environment standards are maintained.
- Manage medication inventory, including stock replenishment, expiration checks, and proper storage according to pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
- Support patient care by providing medication information, answering questions, and ensuring timely medication intake and administration.
- Maintain detailed documentation of medication dispensing, compounding procedures, and inventory records following regulatory guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to hospital policies and pharmaceutical regulations related to drug regulation, medical terminology, and acute care practices.
- Assist with intake procedures for new prescriptions or medication orders while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Proven pharmacy technician experience, preferably within LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, or hospital settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, drug regulation, and state healthcare regulations.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to sterile IV admixture procedures are a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with IV infusion preparation, sterile IV admixture procedures, and hospital pharmacy operations.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for patient service and collaboration with healthcare teams.
