Foreign Affairs of Duluth is a Foreign Car Auto Repair business that has been in business for the past thirty years. We have a great customer base and are seeking an experienced Foreign Car Technician specializing in Volvo, Audi and other foreign/domestic vehicles to join our automotive service team.
Foreign Affairs of Duluth works on Volvo, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Subaru, Mini, Honda, Toyota, Rovers and other foreign brands. In addition, we occasionally service domestic brands.
In this energetic role, you will utilize your expertise to diagnose, repair, and service a wide range of foreign automotive brands, ensuring each vehicle meets the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability. Your technical skills and passion for automotive excellence will help us maintain our reputation for outstanding customer service and technical precision.
The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic and repair skills, attention to detail, and hands-on experience servicing European vehicles. We provide competitive benefits and pay to the qualified candidate. The job is Monday to Friday from 8 to 5 with an hour for lunch.
The pay is from $30 to $40 an hour.
Key Responsibilities
· Diagnose and repair Volvo, Audi, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Subaru, Mini, Honda, Toyota, Rovers and other foreign brands, including electrical, mechanical, and computer-related systems.
· Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative services.
· Troubleshoot engine, transmission, suspension, steering, braking, and HVAC systems.
· MAC AC license is strongly preferred.
· Use professional diagnostic scan tools to identify and resolve complex vehicle issues, drivability and emission concerns
· Perform engine and component repairs, timing belt/chain services, brake work, and suspension repairs.
· Interpret wiring diagrams, electrical issues, service information, and manufacturer specifications.
· Complete repairs accurately and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
· Document work performed and communicate repair needs clearly.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
· Stay current with evolving European and Asian vehicle technology and repair procedures.
Qualifications
· 3+ years of professional automotive repair experience preferred.
· Strong experience working on Volvo, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Subaru, Mini, Honda, Toyota, Rovers and other foreign brands. In addition, we service occasional domestic brands.
· Knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic procedures.
· Ability to use modern scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
· Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
· ASE certification or manufacturer-specific training is a plus.
· AC license
Preferred Skills
· Volvo VIDA diagnostic experience.
· Mercedes-BMW-Mini experience is a plus.
· Audi/VW diagnostic experience, including VCDS or factory diagnostic equipment.
· Experience with European electrical and computer systems.
· Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
· Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
