American Traveler is hiring a Sleep Technologist for a hospital-based Sleep Lab, requiring at least one year of sleep lab experience and Epic proficiency.

Hospital-based Sleep Lab setting
-
Performs polysomnography to assess EEG, EOG, EMG, EKG, and ventilation during sleep studies
-
May initiate therapy per physician order
-
Conducts full-night sleep studies and Multiple Sleep Latency Tests
-
Performs CPAP/BIPAP titration and independent O2 therapy administration
-
13-week assignment on a 10-hour night shift schedule
-
Shift runs approximately 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM, working Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday

Uses Epic EMR

Minimum of 1 year of sleep lab experience required

High school education required
-
Registration or registry eligibility preferred

Epic EMR experience required

License required if applicable

Must be able to recognize and respond to physiological events such as cardiac dysrhythmias, respiratory events, and seizures
-
Must be able to troubleshoot equipment and maintain quality assurance standards of 90-100%

Works under general supervision of a sleep center clinical director who provides study interpretation
-
Follows technical standards outlined by the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and American Society of Sleep Medicine
-
Reviews patient medical records and referring physician notes to gather patient information
-
Completes patient questionnaires and identifies sleep/wake complaints
-
Evaluates studies in real time and prepares preliminary reports
-
Calibrates and adjusts instruments to maintain top-quality recordings
-
Recognizes and documents artifacts and abnormal clinical manifestations during testing
-
Participates in continuing education to stay current on sleep medicine advancements
-
Participates in departmental quality improvement activities and mandatory education
-
Required to complete Tele/ECG and Medication competency testing
-
COVID vaccine (plus booster) and flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions allowed
-
Must be separated from Beth Israel Lahey Health facilities for at least 6 months prior to starting
-
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius, as local candidates are not accepted for this position

First-time travelers may be considered
