Electronics Service Technician

About the Position
Electrom Instruments is seeking a motivated Electronics Service Technician to join our Service and Calibration Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in electronics and a passion for hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and continuous learning.
As a key member of our team, you’ll work with advanced electronic test instrumentation, diagnose and repair complex systems, and contribute to the development of service processes and products. This role is ideal for a self-starter looking to grow into a senior or leadership position over time.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- A solid foundation in electronics, either through formal education (Associate degree in Electronics Technology preferred) and relevant experience
- Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing electronic or electro-mechanical assemblies
- Proficiency in soldering and working with PCBs
- The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong computer skills, especially in Windows-based systems
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to assemble/disassemble hardware
- A strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to work with cross-functional teams
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electronic failures in test instrumentation
- Troubleshoot to the component level
- Write repair estimates including labor and parts
- Track and document repair processes, time, and parts used
- Calibrate test equipment to meet defined standards
- Clean and inspect equipment returned from customer sites
- Collaborate with Service, Production, R&D, and Engineering teams
- Provide input to improve service processes and instrument design
- Occasionally lift and move instruments up to 50 lbs
