Sweeney Excavation is a 35 year old established Excavation, Demolition, & Concrete Foundation provider in the State of Connecticut. We are currently looking for an Chief Estimator/Project Manager with 5 years experience minimum. This position will be responsible for Estimating potential projects, obtain & coordinate sub contractor and vendor pricing and proposals. Assist & communicate with all field personnel. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills.
Chief Estimator Responsibilities
· Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project
· Negotiate contracts with external vendors and subcontractors
· Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
· Reading and understanding all Construction Documents
· Procurement of Materials & Sub Contractor agreements
· Accurate quantity take offs to reach thorough estimate
· Tracking production & identifying change orders
· Management of all project documents
Chief Estimator Skills
· Proven experience in this role
· In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
· Familiarity with Trimble Business Center a plus
· Good knowledge of MS Office
· Experience with HCSS Estimating Software
· In Depth knowledge of MS Excel
· Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills
· A team player with leadership abilities'
