The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving Quality Management System (QMS) processes that support the design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery of QES products. This position works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Field Service, and Operations teams to ensure compliance with customer requirements, internal procedures, ISO 9001 standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
The Quality Engineer leads problem-solving activities, supports corrective and preventive actions, conducts audits, analyzes quality data, and drives continuous improvement initiatives that improve product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational performance. This role serves as a key facilitator in standardizing processes, reducing defects, and ensuring sustainable quality throughout the organization.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.
Lead root cause analysis investigations using methodologies such as 8D, A3, GSTD, CAPA, and other structured problem-solving tools.
Manage corrective actions and verify the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
Conduct internal quality audits and support external customer, certification, and regulatory audits.
Analyze quality performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
Support Nonconforming Product (NCP) processes, including containment, disposition, and corrective action activities.
Partner with Engineering to ensure design changes, ECOs, and documentation updates are compliant and properly controlled.
Collaborate with Manufacturing to improve process capability, reduce defects, and improve first-pass yield.
Support supplier quality activities, including supplier evaluations, corrective actions, and performance monitoring.
Develop and deliver quality-related training to employees.
Monitor compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and company quality procedures.
Utilize quality data and reporting tools to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
Support customer issue resolution, field failures, and warranty investigations.
Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Assist with developing and monitoring quality objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Work cross-functionally to standardize processes, reduce defects, and support sustainable quality improvements throughout the organization.
Knowledge and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
2–5 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, engineering, or a related discipline.
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), preferably ISO 9001.
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
Understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, and document control practices.
Familiarity with auditing techniques and quality tools.
Knowledge of statistical analysis and quality reporting methods.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and other business software systems.
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or other ASQ certification.
Experience in electrical equipment, switchgear, power distribution equipment, control panels, modular buildings, or related industries.
Experience with ISO 9001 implementation and auditing.
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, or equivalent continuous improvement training.
