Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Lead Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. As a Preschool Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and implementing developmentally appropriate curricula, managing classroom activities, and building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori and other curriculum frameworks.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social-emotional growth.
- Manage daily classroom activities, including circle time, play-based learning, arts and crafts, physical education, and storytime.
- Assess individual child development needs through observation and standardized testing to tailor instruction accordingly.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings and written updates.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of attendance, assessments, lesson plans, and incident reports in accordance with licensing requirements.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings with a strong understanding of childhood development principles.
- Proficiency in curriculum development across various educational philosophies such as Montessori or traditional early childhood methods.
- Knowledge of special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support diverse learners.
- Strong classroom management skills to foster positive behavior management and create an orderly learning environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and collaboration with team members.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical activity, and social-emotional learning.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; experience teaching physical education is a plus.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws, childhood welfare policies, and daycare licensing standards.
- Experience working with toddlers as well as preschool-aged children; previous private school or daycare experience is desirable.
- Associates Degree preferred; CDA required
