Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South was formed through a dynamic merger of local Club organizations in Southeastern Massachusetts. Our approach to driving systematic change is to address issues that negatively impact youth head-on, talking early and often about the importance of overcoming peer-pressure and breaking free from generational cycles of opportunity. We believe in an interdisciplinary approach to youth development, and so we work to address the root causes of the challenges facing our region’s youth.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the transportation of children enrolled in the Club programs from designated schools to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South sites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Transport children from designated schools to Club sites.
- Monitor all children while transporting to the Club sites.
- Provide open communication with parents, children, and staff to assure highest standards of care are being met.
- Responsible for record keeping including attendance, vehicle logs, and fleet maintenance documents.
- Participate in promoting, and enforcing of established ground rules.
- Participate in maintenance of cleanliness and safety of the physical environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Current knowledge of state and Club standards and regulations specific to MA Department of Early Education and Care.
- Exemplary communication skills (written and verbal) are needed, including the ability to present in front of large groups, interact with and motivate stakeholders, represent the organization at community events and meetings, and write professionally in emails, etc.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people (staff, families, youth, etc.) and a track record of building and sustaining meaningful relationships with individuals and teams from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Commitment to professionalism including high expectations and standards of quality, a strong work ethic and personal code of ethics, accountability, and dependability.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented with the ability to set effective objectives for teams and individuals and take ownership for results.
- Demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, inclusiveness, and empowerment.
- Willing to provide instruction during daily programming times and occasional night and weekend hours. This position does not provide for remote work options.
- Certifications: As outlined in BGCMS Training Academy upon hire or within allocated training timelines.
- Valid Massachusetts Class D license & 7D transportation license.
